ABOUT US

The Hurdlestone Challenge was started by a small group of Scout & Guide Leaders who were inspired by a similar, but much larger, event called the Malvern Challenge. The Hurdlestone Challenge Trophy was first won in 1992 and has been fought for every year since, except for 2001 and 2020 when foot and mouth and COVID respectively, stopped the event from taking place. 

The original organisers were David Wright, Bill Wright & Jeanne Langridge all of whom had been involved in Scouting and Guiding for many years. As the Hurdlestone Challenge has grown in popularity, so has the number of people organising the event.
